The 3rd edition of Contemporary Arab, Iranian and International Art Auction organized by JAMM in collaboration with PADDLE 8 and TAG Heuer Dubai held in Kuwait at CAP (Contemporary Art Platform) on 29th of November, 2012 attracted many visitors and important art collectors from Kuwait and Middle East, confirmed to be the most important event of the 2012 for Kuwaiti art market and art scene.
Auction has totaled USD 570,000. From 63 lots only 16 unsold. The top price was achieved for video-installation of Iranian artists Farideh Lashai – lot 62, “El Amal”, with estimate KD 14,000-19,700/USD 50,000-70,000 and sold for USD 72,000. Second highest price was set for an important piece of Iranian artist Reza Derakshani “Garden Party”, lot 63, with estimate KD 18,200-26,700/ USD 65,000-95,000 and sold for USD 70,000.
