Al-Soura Al-Kabeera (The Big Picture) by Dr. Moayad Hassan. Art Exhibition and Book Launch.
The works shown in the exhibition are a visual representation of the concepts of the launched book Al-Soura Al-Kabeera, (The Big Picture: A Cultural Reading of the Contemporary Kuwaiti Condition).
The main concept of the book/art is that the causes of the current contemporary problems and other disputes are intertwined, popping up from a singular source which is the culture. To conceive the complexity of the big picture and see it uncropped, we need to consider a few steps backwards.
The exhibition will harbor a synthetic video installation, in addition to the main body of print and photography artwork.
Dr. Moayad Hassan is a Kuwaiti contemporary artist and photographer, and a writer in the field of art and culture. He is also a professor in the Art Education department at the College of Basic Education in Kuwait, with a PhD in History of Art.
